What should I do to participate in the admissions process for a Graduate programme at the Institute of English Studies?

In order to participate in the admissions process you must register an account at the IRK website (www.irk.uw.edu.pl), providing your personal information as well as information regarding your BA/MA diploma. You should then select your chosen subject and mode of studies, choose a C1 language exam date (if you have not passed it yet - see below) as well as a subject examination date, and pay the admission fee.

Admissions are determined by a two-part examination - a C1 language test and a subject examination. Those who hold a C1 English language certificate issued by the University of Warsaw in the past 5 years, or any of the certificates mentioned in the admission rules for the given programme on the IRK website, do not have to write the test. It is advisable that you inform the Admissions Team that you have one of the required certificates via a message in the IRK system.

When and what documents to submit while applying for admission?

Documents should be submitted only after the information about being accepted for the programme appears on your IRK account page. The list of required documents, as well as the time and place for their submission will be sent to your personal IRK account.

What is a contract for paying for studies and why do I have to sign it?

Signing a contract for paying for educational services offered during intramural studies (studia stacjonarne) is required by the state bill Ustawa Prawo o szkolnictwie wyższym z dnia 18 marca 2011. The contract must be signed by every student regardless of their chosen mode of studies. Detailed information can be found here (link in Polish):
