On June 14, Professor Rubach received the prestigious Adam Chętnik Award — a major distinction in the Kurpie region — "for many years of linguistic research on the Kurpie dialect, the development of a standardized writing system for it, and the publication of foundational works on the topic."
In a gesture of deep respect for the community, Professor Rubach donated the financial part of the award to support the revitalization of the Kurpie dialect.
A well-deserved recognition of a lifetime’s dedication to linguistic research and community engagement — congratulations once again!
We are lucky that this world-renowned linguist is also a key figure in our Institute — a mentor, scholar, and leader who has helped shape it for decades.
