American Studies Encounters invites you to a special guest lecture by Professor Sherryl Vint from the University of California, Riverside. Professor Vint is a leading scholar in science fiction studies and speculative theory, widely recognized for her influential research on technology, embodiment, and futurity in literature. She will present a talk entitled "Future Value: Financial Subjects in Contemporary Fiction," which will explore how contemporary literature engages with finance, speculation, and subjectivity in an age increasingly shaped by economic abstraction. The lecture will take place on May 29, 2025, at 3:00 PM in Room 3.017. This event is open to all and offers Open Lecture Points. We look forward to seeing you there.
