Foreign Language and Cultural Studies

Foreign Language and Cultural Studies are a two-cycle programme that combines various courses offered by departments of foreign language and cultural studies based on the specialties chosen by the student. It helps students gain such sought-after skills as self-reliance, teamwork and decisiveness, with the interdisciplinary approach allowing for multi-faceted development.

The Institute of English Studies handles administrative duties, while the courses included in the programme are offered by the following units:

  • The Institute of English Studies,
  • The Institute of German Studies,
  • The Institute of French Studies,
  • Institute of Iberian and Ibero-American Studies,
  • Department of Italian Studies.

The underlying idea is to allow students to define as individualised a programme as possible and to choose the specialties that best suit their interests.

The majority of the classes are conducted in the language of a given specialty, with a minority conducted in Polish.
