Abstract: I will discuss the contribution of corpus linguistics methodology in research on multilingualism, second language acquisition in particular. I will also review the place of learner corpora in this research, focusing on advantages and disadvantages of this type of data. In the later part of the talk, I will focus on how corpus linguistics methods contribute to the definition and assessment of second language proficiency, and present an overview of my research in this area.
